What is LSS?
For more than 50 years, LSS of Northern California has been serving the most vulnerable in our region. Today, our focus is to end the homelessness crisis in our region by providing supportive housing and essential services to the unhoused—to guide families, seniors, adults with disabilities, transition aged youth (including youth exiting the foster care system) and other adults from challenging, sometimes dangerous and unsafe living situations to their highest level of stability and success. Our programs house people and keep them housed. Our participants are our partners in their own journeys. LSS is … honored to be part of all this good in the world!
Lutheran Social Services of Northern California (LSS NorCal) provides supportive housing and services to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, LSS served more than 9,000 people through contracted programs in 10 Northern California counties: Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Stanislaus, Tehama and Yolo. LSS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, EIN 94-1659687, headquartered in Concord, California.
