LSS has served homeless people and emancipating foster youth in Sacramento County for over 50 years. We operate nine housing programs in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties, providing:

  • Transitional housing for homeless families, individuals, and youth.
  • Permanent supportive housing for disabled individuals, families, and youth emerging from foster care.
  • Case management for individuals and families who are permanently housed.

We have developed strategic community partnerships that encourage innovative development of services, including partnerships with property management companies, childcare providers, in-home therapy providers, and other continuum of care providers. We also work with our clients on ways to better serve their needs.

We are grateful to receive funding for these programs from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), The Transitional Housing Program Plus  (THP-Plus), SHRA (Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency), and the Department of Human Assistance—as well as from our philanthropic partners in the community.
