7 Ways You Can Help LSS End Homelessness for Good
We offer many opportunities for you, your congregation, business or community service organization to make a difference.
Become a Partner in Change
Monthly donations are an easy way to help us end homelessness for good. Gifts as small as $15 per month help purchase healthy food for children, families and former foster youth; pay for transportation, clothing and more.
Shop Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile offers the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com, but when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice, LSS of Northern California. We keep a running wish on AmazonSmile to help select items our children, families and youth need. Click AmazonSmile to support LSS of Northern California.
Donate to Our Clothing, Book or Gift Drives
Each winter LSS organizes a drive to accept new socks, underwear and coats of all sizes for homeless men and women. The Holiday Gift Drive offers the opportunity to create a happy, joyful holiday season for children, families and former foster youth in our housing programs. The May Book Drive provides summer reading for children. Check out the wish list for each of these drives by visiting our website or calling us to learn more.
Furnish an Apartment for Formerly Homeless Foster Youth, Adults and Families
Help create a place to call home for those who have nothing; your support will build a sense of stability and safety. Your donation funds the most basic of items, including kitchen utensils, dishes, bath towels, bedding and larger furnishings. Visit our website to learn what is needed and how to make a cash or in-kind donation.
Welcome Baskets for Those Moving Into a New Home
You can create gift baskets filled with all the essential little items: soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothbrushes, food storage containers and more. These baskets are presented to formerly homeless foster youth and families to help them settle into their new home.
Create an Action Team
Thrivent Financial members can form teams to complete a one-time project for LSS. Your congregation, business or community service group can do the same.
Share your time and talent by mentoring a formerly homeless youth or teaching a class to a group of our young people
